Sailing programme

OTBSC runs Sunday racing throughout most of the year and encourages everyone to participate at their own level.

To assist the transition to racing, Sandringham Yacht Club offers several training programs through our Junior Development Squad. These specially organised events are designed to enhance sailor’s skills. Programmes are focused and range from the more inexperienced sailors through to the elite level. Experienced trainers include World and Olympic sailing champions and competitors.

There are also several interclub programs including training at Davey’s Bay, Albert Park, Mornington Yacht Club and more during the year.

Boat Storage

The OTB Sailing Centre offers storage facilities for registered boats (refer Storage Policy on www.syc.com.au ), a meeting room for briefing and training sessions, toilet, showers and change facilities and a Canteen staffed by a volunteer roster of parents.

Canteen

The Canteen operates on all race days and is open before and after racing. If your child participates in C Fleet activities then you will be expected to assist in the Canteen on one or two days during the season. There may be some days when C Fleet is training and there is no aggregate race scheduled. On these days the Canteen may not be open. However, food is available from the SYC Ken King Centre and Windsurfing Headquarters.

Parking

Parking at SYC is restricted to SYC members. Please ensure that you do not park in the yard area or block working areas. As soon as your boat is dropped off at the OTBSC grass area please remove all cars and trailers. Parking is available in Jetty Road – keep an eye on the gate to Trey Bit Reserve (on the right opposite the large car parking area).  Depending on events at the club, it may be opened for additional parking. Be aware that parking in the Jetty Road area is ticket parking – make sure that you have plenty of change.
