The Barry team from SYC have finished 3rd in the 2010 Etchells World Championships in Dublin, Ireland. The Barry team comprises Damien King, Simon Cunnington, James Ware, and Andy Butler and their sensational result follows their 2nd place in the 2009 World Championships.
SYC’s “barry” boys, with 48 points (2-5-9-5-10-3-(30)-6-8) finished behind fellow Victorian (RBYC) Etchells sailor John Bertrand and his crew of Andrew Palfrey and Tom Slingsby – who dominated the Series with 5 wins and 23 points (5-1-1-1-9-1-4-1-(DNC)) – and Ante Razmilovic’s “Swedish Blue” team representing Hong Kong on 35 points (1-4-2-12-4-5-2-(20)-5).
