International Cadet British Nationals Results in Wales - 10th August 2007

At the end of the British Nationals the entire Australian team are in very good shape with the event being used as training and development but the main things ticked off like boat speed, getting to know the racing format and race officer, tactics and general familiarity. The team feel like they have been here for weeks, so they are totally comfortable with their environment, a big advantage.

The coach is Guy Brearly 21, who has finished top 5 in previous worlds.
He's great with the kids, knows cadets backwards and he knows the local conditions. He's been very valuable showing the kids a higher work ethic with many training sessions, video and on shore training really lifting the team. Overall a busy schedule but well worth while. Having this coach has been a huge benefit to our team and should be looked at favorably for future years.

The weather was fine & sunny with 3-10 knots of breeze, the courses for the British nationals were trapezoid- no triangles. The measuring was incredibly strict with many boats needing major modifications, something to be very careful of for the future. On the last day, all races were started with a black flag on the first start.
