SYC Power Boats Needed!
Boating Victoria is to provide volunteer power boats to entertain VIP's and media during the Sail Melbourne event in January. The overall event is huge, and will be a showcase activity for boating in Melbourne which gives us the opportunity to give hospitality to a wide range of people.
The main hospitality event based at SYC we need to support is as follows:
Thursday 17 January 2008 - motor cruisers over 30 ft long are required for the Special Guests and Sponsors day out, with guests from Parks Victoria, various Vic government departments, City of Melbourne, local councils Port Philip/Kingston/Bayside/ and more, major marine suppliers, and others all with some influence over boating and facilities in Victoria.
Please note that Yachting Victoria will pay for your fuel and supply all catering for the day - all you need to do is provide the following information:
~ Your boat name and boat length
~ Your name / mobile number / email address
~ Space for how many guests on board
ACTION REQUIRED NOW IS TO INDICATE YOUR INTEREST DIRECT TO ROD AUSTIN AT YACHTING VICTORIA.
Please send the information to Rod Austin - mailto:RAustin@yachtingvictoria.com.au or call 03 9597 0066 as soon as possible and he will prepare a roster of boats and return to you.
The arrangement will be to collect guests at the Sandringham marina at midday on Thursday 17th and return them at the end of racing sometime around 4 pm. To inform all volunteer skippers of the event details, a full briefing will be held at SYC on Monday January 14.
Please do what you can to assist this great opportunity for both sail and power boating.
