Update on Joel and Jack - 8th July 2008
On a day when many keelboats decided it was too windy to race and several of those that did found themselves in strife, SYC Cadet sailors Joel Aulich and Jack Furey went sailing in Odyssey last Sunday as usual; training hard for the forthcoming International Cadet Worlds in Medemblik, The Netherlands. The fresh northerly provided an ideal opportunity for some heavy air spinnaker practice and the boys made the most of the conditions. Click here to view the boys in action!Some of their Aussie Cadet Team ‘08 mates will join them at SYC later this week for a four day intensive coaching program designed to further sharpen their skills for the Worlds under the guidance of Tasmania’s Cadet Supercoach, Paul Burnell, himself twice an International Cadet World Champion.
Joel and Jack, together with their Dads, depart for Medemblik on July 23rd and express their gratitude to Sandringham Yacht Club, Yachting Victoria, Ronstan and Sailing Anarchy for their generous support of the campaign.
