SYC Opening Day 4th October 2008
This year's theme is HELLO SAILOR!
Get into the spirit of Opening Day and dress yourselves and your boats to match the theme.
Catering Options
Food will be available for purchase from 11am – late, during lunch a BBQ will be available so too will an oyster tent. For dinner, two options will be available; the BBQ for those who wish to grab a meal ‘on the run’ or should you wish to sit and relax there will be a limited a la carte menu in the Quarterdeck. Bookings for dinner in the Quarterdeck are to be made by calling Naomi in the office.
Each year this event gets bigger and better and we are looking forward to another successful day and summer sailing season.
Programme
0800 Ken King Centre & Treybit reserve open
1100 Food and beverage commence in the BBQ and BBG bar area
1230 Opening Ceremony
1255 Blessing of the fleet
1300 Members’ bar will open at the conclusion of the Opening Ceremony – approximately 1300
1430 Sail Past
1630 Kid’s entertainment in the BBG courtyard
1700 Award for the best dressed boat & drawing of the junior overseas travel raffle
1800 Live Entertainment & Dinner in the Quarterdeck & BBQ area
2300 Last drinks called
Working Bee 2008~ Sunday 28th September ~ Put your hand up and help clean SYC
Volunteers are needed to take part in our annual clean up of the yard and Club grounds.
Refreshments and BBQ are organised for lunch for those who have participated.
No need to RSVP, simply arrive for a briefing in the Members’ Lounge at 8am
